Owner, Robert Micele, was born into the plating business, as his father and cousins started Top Notch Metal Finishing in 1946. The original small factory with 6 employees and grew to one of the largest plating companies on the East Coast.
Under his father’s tutelage and through his years of experience, Robert mastered the technique of plating and polishing any metal surface. This includes unsurpassed techniques for plating aluminum and stainless steel.
Robert started SUPER CHROME in 1994, soon becoming the industry leader in high-end automotive Chrome and Show Chrome.
In 1999 Robert purchased Carlton Cooke. Carlton Cooke, one of the Nation’s first plating companies, had filed for bankruptcy and Robert knew he could turn things around. He revived Carlton Cooke and saved the failing business. He turned the company into a distinguished architectural and decorative metal finishing standout.
The unique situation of uniting two specialty finishing companies allows SUPER CHROME/Carlton Cook to provide metal finishing and powder coating to all industries such as automotive, architectural, architectural metal, furniture, lighting, hardware, decorative hardware, and cabinetry to name a few.
